Potato chips are the most popular “breakfast” in the world. Yes, taboo is for healthy eating maniacs, but how can you resist the crunchy pleasure ?! And with the recipe we offer you can cook it in just 10 minutes. And even less.
What do you need?
1. A large potato (you can more, depending on your appetite and company);
2. Olive oil;
3. Salt and spices (to taste);
4. Cold water bowl;
5. Paper towels (napkins);
6. Microwave oven and bowl for it;
How to cook potato chips in the microwave oven?
Peel the potatoes into thin, translucent slices. The ultimate “crunchiness” depends on their thickness. Ideally, it is better to use a special grater for this purpose, but a sharp cooking knife will do the job.
Immediately after cutting the slices, dip them in a cold water bowl. Better leave them for a minute or two, then drain the water – so remove excess starch.
Dry the pieces by wrapping them in a clean cloth and gently pressing.
Now take a microwave oven receptacle. Cover it with two layers of paper (parchment or plain paper towel). Put the potatoes on the paper. Make sure they do not come in contact with each other, otherwise they can stick together in a “superchips”.
Now lightly smear the pieces of olive oil on both sides (for golden bark), and sprinkle salt and spices to taste. A combination of red pepper + curry is a great idea!
Put the pot with the cooked potatoes in the microwave oven for 3 minutes maximum modes. After turning each cut, reduce the power to 50% and “dry” for another 3 minutes. Check: at least some of the chips are already “dried up” to an appetizing crust. Remove them and leave the rest for another 1 minute with a power of 50% – and so, 1 minute until it’s ready.
After 6-10 minutes (depending on the thickness of the pieces and the microwave power) you will be ready with an excellent appetizer – own preparation. And without chemistry – a pure natural product!
